How does the media impact your perception of reality?

To be honest , this was a very tough topic to write about. Not that I have no thoughts on the subject its just quite difficult to get your idea out fully. The reason being is that media impacts people on all different levels. How media effects you is not a one size fits all kind of thing, because everyone is impacted differently based on the type of social media they participate in.

For example I like to watch:

The Walking dead
Alphas

So its easy to say that these show would impact me differently then someone who watches The Real House Wives of Vancouver.

I believe it's your own personality that draws you to the different types of media out there, but once you get there you can also be change based on the content you are being exposed to.  If you are already a person who dreams of fairy tales, then when you reach the age that you start becoming involved in social media you will be more attracted to those that go with your interests.

The matter on reality is that we need to be aware that most of the content we see online is fictional, and we should try to separate reality from fiction while online so the two don't end up getting twisted together. To prevent this we have to teach our children from a young age that things we see on TV and movies is all "movie magic" as my mother would say.

But media can also impact you on a subconscious level. You will start to act differently depending on what you are watching, listening and reading.

In the end we should always be careful while on the Internet not to take the things we see to seriously.
